Three people are behind bars in connection with the death of a 19-year-old man in Mesa earlier this year.
On May 19, officers were called to an apartment in the area of Southern Avenue and Stapley Drive early in the morning after receiving reports of an assault.
When officers arrived to the area, they found Cristian Camarena dead at the scene.
Authorities with the U.S. Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the El Paso Police Department’s Gang and SWAT units, and Texas Department of Public Safety’s Air Support Unit arrested three people on Friday in El Paso, Texas who are believed to be suspected in the alleged homicide.
The suspects, 22-year-old Clark Lee Wylie, 17-year-old Tiffany Van Nest, and 24-year-old Jesus Alonso Gomez, are now awaiting extradition to Arizona. All three were arrested at different locations in the city.
No additional details have been released at this time.
