MESA, AZ — Mesa Fire Department says a retired fire captain died over the weekend after a battle with cancer.
Captain Trevor Madrid died over Sunday afternoon surrounded by loved ones, the department announced Monday.
Officials say his passing was occupational in nature.
Messages of sympathy were shared by fellow firefighters and Arizona departments, including Pinetop Fire District.
Memorial services are set to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 23.
