Two Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies were treated at the scene of a house fire in Mesa Monday morning.
Rural Metro said the started at a home near Broadway and Hawes Roads.
The initial call came in as a structure fire with someone possibly trapped. When crews responded to the scene they could not find anyone inside.
The homeowner said, "I'm going to go to church and pray and hopefully somebody will help and and hear my story. I have nothing left. It took everything from me. My house. My clothes. Everything."
Two MCSO deputies were among the first responders and were treated for smoke evaluation.
The deputies were not transported to the hospital.

The house is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
