TEMPE — One person is dead following a crash that occurred Saturday morning on US-60 at Rural Road.
DPS officers responded to a crash at the aforementioned location around 5:40 a.m. on February 2 to find a two-vehicle rollover crash.
A witness told DPS officers they saw a disabled vehicle blocking the right lane of US-60 eastbound. The disabled vehicle was struck by another vehicle traveling eastbound.
When DPS officers arrived on scene, they say one vehicle was on its roof with a male occupant trapped inside. It is unclear if this was the disabled vehicle.
Members of the Tempe Fire Department removed the driver from the car, but could not revive him after several attempts.
The driver of the vehicle, described as a man his 30s by DPS, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, according to DPS.
While the investigation is ongoing, impairment has not been ruled out as a factor, DPS says.
