The water at Tempe Town Lake is ready for triathletes competing in the Tempe International Triathlon, but that means drivers in the area will have to avoid some of the roadways.

Athletes will swim either 750 or 1,500 meter and then jump on a bike and then run. The race begins at 6:30 a.m., but road closures begin at 5 a.m.

Ash Avenues is closed northbound between the U.S. Ariways parking garage and Rio Salado Parkway.

Rio Salado Parkway eastbound is closed between Hardy Drive and Mill Avenue, and Rio Salado Parkway westbound is also closed between Mill Avenue and Priest Drive.

Mill Avenue northbound is closed between Rio Salado Parkway and Washington Street.

Washington Street eastbound is closed between Priest Drive and Mill Avenue, meaning all eastbound traffic needs to turn north or south onto Priest Drive.

Center Parkway southbound is closed between Washington Street and westbound at the SR 202 exit-ramp.
