A section of Warner Road was shut down in Tempe on Monday morning after a serious single-vehicle crash.
According to Tempe police at the scene, around 10 p.m. Sunday a driver headed down Warner Road near Priest Drive crossed the median before crashing into a retaining wall.
The driver took off on foot, but was taken into custody. A woman who was also in the car was ejected, causing life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating impairment as a factor in the crash.
