Tempe police have taken a man who reportedly stabbed a family member in the neck on Wednesday morning into custody.

Police say Nathaniel Sims was in a fight with his brother and stabbed him in the neck area, causing serious injuries to the victim. 

The victim was taken to the hospital and Sims fled the scene. The incident reportedly occurred at a home near Rural Road and Apache Boulevard.

Police located the suspect early Wednesday afternoon after asking for help from the public. Sims was considered armed and dangerous.
