Tempe police say they're investigating after someone sprayed protestors near a Planned Parenthood facility with an "unknown liquid" on Wednesday.
A Tempe spokesperson said the unknown subjects were in a vehicle when they began spraying people standing on a sidewalk near Apache Boulevard near Dorsey Lane.
According to Tempe police, the suspect sprayed an unknown brown substance when they were turned around.
The protestors were able to get the license plate number from the vehicle. Police will attempt to track down the vehicle.
Officials will also check the protestors' clothes to determine what the substance is.
Planned Parenthood released the following statement:
"Planned Parenthood Arizona condemns any violent act, no matter who it is aimed at. We share the concerns of many Arizonans that extremists are creating a charged environment and we recommend people turn down the rhetoric around women's health and Planned Parenthood's services."
