TEMPE, AZ — Residents at a Tempe apartment complex are without utilities after a U-Haul truck struck utility lines overnight.
Officials say the truck was entering an underground parking garage near Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway when it struck lines impacting gas, electric, water and sewage. The truck was about a foot taller than the clearance for the garage.
Residents at the complex were evacuated, but have since been allowed to return. Still, about half of the complex is without utilities.
The complex is reportedly working to find temporary solutions for those impacted.
At this time, there is no estimated timetable for utilities to be working again.
