TEMPE, AZ — Multiple people were taken to the hospital after two crashes on US60 Tuesday night.
The Department of Public Safety says the first collision at US60 and McClintock Drive appears to have been caused by a car stopped in the middle lane of US60.
Tempe firefighters say two adults were extricated out of their vehicles and transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Two additional adults were transported with non-life threatening injuries. An additional six people were evaluated on scene, four of which were children, but were not transported to the hospital, firefighters say.
In addition, a secondary three-vehicle crash just east of the original crash on US 60 WB near Loop 101 and Dobson Road blocked the HOV, left and center lanes.
DPS said fire crews extricated another two patients in the crash.
