AVONDALE, AZ — Fire crews have fully contained a brush fire that sparked in Avondale Friday evening.
As of Tuesday night, morning, the Avondale Fire has burned 819 acres and is 100 percent contained, according to the Arizona State Forestry Department.

Up to 32 homes were evacuated with 20 on the north and 12 on the south side in the river bottom in salt cedar near Phoenix Raceway.
MCSO officials have moved those who evacuated back to "Ready" status.

Crews are rendering protection for the evacuated homes to block the fire from reaching them.

Goodyear, Avondale, Phoenix, Tolleson, Rural Metro and several other agencies are currently battling the fire.
It is unclear what sparked the fire.
