Trooper Tyler Edenhofer was shot and killed by a suspect during a struggle on Interstate 10 in Avondale on Wednesday night.
DPS Colonel Frank Milstead says Edenhofer graduated from the DPS Academy in May and was an officer in training. Friends and family of Edenhofer tell ABC15 he was a Navy veteran and was slated to be done with DPS training next week.

To help the families of fallen Arizona law enforcement, including Edenhofer's family, ABC15 hosted a phone bank for the 100 Club and was able to help raise $42,025!
The 100 Club provides financial assistance to the families of first responders who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.
