AVONDALE, AZ — Avondale police are searching for a suspect after a shooting in the parking lot of an IHOP near Interstate 10 and Dysart Road Sunday morning.
Police say the incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. when they were called out to the scene in reference to a shooting.
Initial information is that 24-year-old James Archuleta was shot by an unknown suspect who fled the scene before officers arrived on the scene, authorities say.
The victim was then transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Avondale Police Department is now searching for a grey or silver in color newer model BMW sedan that is believed to have been involved in the shooting.
Officers say the investigation is underway and the suspect is currently outstanding.
