A woman has been arrested for making a false 911 call that caused a school lockdown yesterday.
Buckeye police say they were at the home of 27-year-old Melani Hendrick investigating a recent string of burglaries when they received a 911 call about a person with a shotgun walking around Bales Elementary School.
After getting the call, police rushed to the nearby school and conducted a large search of the area.
After failing to locate a suspect, detectives listened to the 911 call and recognized the voice of Hendrick.
Police returned to the home of Hendrick, where she allegedly admitted to making the 911 call. Hendrick told police she made the call because she had information on the burglaries.
Hendrick has been arrested for filing a false report. It’s unclear what connection Hendrick had to the burglaries, or if she was involved in them in any way.
