City officials confirmed Saturday night that Buckeye Police Chief Larry Hall has been suspended after an investigation.
The suspension is for 40 hours, according to officials. He's expected to return to work the week of Nov. 12.
The city provided the following statement:
Over the past several months, the city has been reviewing a draft report from Copeland Investigations regarding an anonymous letter sent to various city officials in Sept. 2017, to determine if any additional investigation is required.
At this time, any actions the city is taking in regard to misconduct are considered personnel matters, are subject to appeal and cannot be discussed until due process is completed per the Peace Officers Bill of Rights.
UPDATE: The police chief of Buckeye, the "Valley's safest city," has been suspended for 40 hours.
The city confirmed to @ABC15 the suspension for Larry Hall. But did not answer whether another Sgt. was disciplined (suspension / leave / termination).

This comes year after city ordered outside investigation into falsified crime stats, other misconduct. City won't give reason for discipline.
In May, @ABC15 proved stats for 2 violent crime categories (agg assaults/sex assaults) were bogus. Experts called stats laughable.

Here's my @ABC15 report about stats: https://t.co/VX848GoUCT
And how officials including Hall responded (not thrilled): https://t.co/39P7eszZBM

I'll likely follow this all up with a report tomorrow laying out how we got here and what @ABC15 has found about Buckeye so far.

City has been sitting on a "draft" of the investigaiton for months.
Fair bet this discipline likely includes crime stat issues. At some point recently, Buckeye PD's website stopped listing its crime stats (page now blank except for map): https://t.co/Mnwd84zXbU
