A Valley family is out of the hospital after they say an erratic driver forced them off the road last month.
Harley Saunders says she, her husband Patrick and four kids were heading home from dinner last month when another driver became aggressive near 83rd Avenue and Buckeye Road in Tolleson.
"He actually also threw a soda at our car, the back window right where the kids were," Harley Saunders said.
The family told ABC15 the other driver had a clear case of road rage.
"He got around us, he was yelling at us, flipping me off, things like that," Patrick Saunders said.
Patrick Saunders says at one point the other driver veered toward him, and he instinctively swerved out of the way, which forced him into a ditch where he crashed.
"I just remember the crying, the screaming," Harley Saunders said.
Saunders says she shattered both legs. Her husband, Patrick, broke his hip. The couple's 9-year-old daughter, Annabelle, suffered a shattered arm and broken jaw. Their son, Daniel, has a broken wrist and fractured hip. Two other children suffered what the family describes as bumps and bruises.
"I thank God every day that we're alive," Harley Saunders said.
The family says they have no clue what caused the other driver to get so upset.
"You can't be in that much of a hurry, other peoples' lives do matter, too," Harley Saunders said. "Tell us why?"
Tolleson police told ABC15 they have not located the other driver and currently have no leads. They ask anybody who has information on the crash to come forward.
The family hopes their situation reaches the other driver.
"Tell us what made you so angry that you would put kids at risk," Harley Saunders said.
The family now has a GoFundMe page as they continue to recover from a wide range of injuries.
