A gas leak at a Buckeye apartment complex forced approximately two dozen people to evacuate on Monday evening.
The incident was reported at the Buckeye Villa Apartments, near MC 85 and 9th Street.
According to Buckeye fire officials, the evacuated residents were transported by a city bus to a nearby senior center.
No injuries were reported in the incident, officials said.
The leak was found in a pipe underground, but the cause of the leak remains under investigation.
Southwest Gas crews have secured the leak, according to fire officials on Tuesday morning, but they are still getting gas readings in the affected soil.
Two of three evacuated buildings have since been cleared for residents to return. The remaining residents will be allowed back once all has been cleared.
Buckeye Fire Department is investigating a possible gas leak in downtown Buckeye. 9th Street is temporarily closed from E Jackson Ave to E Clanton Ave.
