BUCKEYE, AZ — MCSO deputies say a woman has died after being hit by a vehicle while checking the mail in Buckeye Monday evening.
Deputies say they responded to a collision near Narramore and Tuthill roads involving a pedestrian at around 7:00 p.m.
Officials say a 24-year-old man was driving northbound on Gopher Road headed towards Narramore Road, when 61-year-old Nina Olsen walked out to get her mail and stepped into the path of the vehicle.
Olsen was transported to the hospital where she later died, according to MCSO.
Deputies say speed and/or impairment did not play a factor in the crash.
