Authorities say a woman has died after being stabbed Monday night.
Buckeye police said the stabbing happened at a home just before 8 p.m. near McDowell Road and Verrado Way.
A police spokesman said the stabbing was the result of a domestic violence incident. Police say the couple was arguing when the woman's boyfriend grabbed a small knife and stabbed her in the neck. The woman, identified as 60-year-old Katherine Linda Linker of Virginia Beach, VA, was found on a bedroom floor. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Police said the suspect, identified as Christopher Lloyd Peters of Virginia Beach, VA, was in custody. He injured himself and was taken to the hospital where he was treated and later released back into police custody.
Another woman who was inside the home at the time was being questioned as a witness, according to Sgt. Jason Weeks.
Investigators said the couple was relatively new to the area and had moved in a short time ago with the woman's daughter.
