A child is hospitalized after being hit by a car Friday afternoon in El Mirage.
According to an El Mirage police spokesman, a white truck was driving southbound on Main Street near Windrose Drive when the 7-year-old boy walked into the street, in front of the car.
The child was walking home from Riverview Elementary school when the accident occurred.
After being struck by the car, the boy was talking and alert. He was transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital as a precaution, officials said.
The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time. Neither speed no alcohol are believed to be factors.
