GLENDALE, AZ — Fire officials are fighting a brush fire in the Thunderbird Mountain area.

The fire broke out Thursday morning on Thunderbird Mountain, which is located in the Thunderbird Conservation Park in Glendale.

Arizona State Forestry officials say it’s estimated to be about 15 acres in size with a “moderate” rate of spread.

Ground and aerial crews are fighting the fire with helicopters using water from nearby lakes to fight the blaze.

It’s unknown how the fire started.
