An overnight fire destroyed a family’s north Glendale mobile home and killed two of their pets.
The fire happened around 11:30 p.m. on Monday in the area of 51st and Glendale avenues.
When Glendale firefighters arrived, the mobile home was fully engulfed. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the neighboring mobile home.
The family, a mother and three children, in the burning mobile home were able to exit before fire arrived. One of family’s three dogs and a pet bird were not able to be removed from the home and died in the fire.
The mobile home is a complete loss.
Firefighters helped the next-door neighbor get her six children out of their home safely as a precaution. Their home did not sustain any fire damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
