Police are asking for the public's help to track down a man who stolen a French bulldog puppy from a West Valley mall earlier this month.

Glendale police spokeswoman Tiffany Smith said around 2:30 p.m. on June 7, the suspect entered the "Puppies N Love" store at Arrowhead Towne Center Mall, where he "accessed" the puppy and fled the shop.

The man was seen getting into a small black SUV, resembling a Kia Soul, with possible damage to the passenger rear fender. He was gone from the scene before police arrived, Smith said.

Witnesses reported that the suspect may have been posting pictures of himself with the puppy on social media while inside the store.

Smith said they are anxious to find the 3-month-old pup due to its medication needs.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 18 years old, with black hair and brown eyes. He is estimated to be around 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build, and at the time of the incident was seen wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt with black pants and Adidas sneakers.

In January, five French bulldog puppies were stolen from the same company at Arizona Mills in Tempe.Police say these cases are not related.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Glendale police at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
