The Glendale Fire Department helped save the life of a dog after the condo the pooch was inside caught on fire Saturday morning.
Firefighters were dispatched to the two-story condominium near Greenway Road and 67th Avenue around 10:15 a.m. When they arrived, they saw a working fire in one of the units, which had spread to the unit above.
Fire crews cut a hole in the roof of the building to help with ventilation of smoke, heat and toxic gases.
While fighting the flames, officials pulled a medium-size dog from inside, using a Fido Bag to help treat the pup.
Fortunately, the dog was up and walking around before crews left the scene. No one else was injured.
Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
