GLENDALE, AZ — Five employees at the Lush Cosmetics location at the Arrowhead Town Center in Glendale are baring all in an effort to bring attention to their "naked" packaging policy - but they ended up sending another message as well.
The post debuted earlier this month on the store's Facebook page and has gotten thousands of likes, comments and shares.
Many of the comments supported the women, their environmentally friendly message, and their message of body acceptance.
"What better way to represent package-free then getting package-free yourself?" explained Marley Dumay, one of the employees who posed in the now-viral photo.
Lush is known for its all-natural, handmade products like bath bombs, scrubs, and shampoos; they do not test on animals and pride themselves on having no or minimal packaging - all in an effort to protect the environment.
As far as any backlash, Dumay says it came as a surprise.
"I did not see this coming," she says.
But through the haters, Dumay and the others realized there was another message that was coming out...
"It's empowerment. Everyone in that photo felt so proud to be in their own skin. We all look different, from size 0 to 16."
