A serial burglary suspect carrying Samurai swords was caught in the act by an alert Glendale neighbor earlier this month.
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, a woman saw 33-year-old Marques Mays running from her garage carrying stuffed bags of stolen items. She was afraid for her two small children in the home and called police.
It was later discovered that Mays had burglarized three homes that morning in the same neighborhood.
According to court paperwork, the items he stole from the homes near 75th Avenue and Camelback, were valued around $5,200 and other than the Samurai swords included, a Willie Mays signed baseball bat, various power tools, a laptop computer, jewelry and other gaming electronics.
Mays, who claims to work for a security company, was quickly found and arrested by Phoenix Police about seven miles away. He was previously arrested for shoplifting in July of this year and was currently on release for extreme DUI.
Mays has been charged with three counts of burglary.
