GLENDALE, AZ — The Lions of Mountain Ridge High School have plenty to celebrate after winning the state marching band championship.

The Mountain Ridge High School Band program in Glendale is known nationally for performances at the Mid-west Clinic, the Music for All National Concert Band Festival, and across the State of Arizona as a five-time recipient of Arizona Band and Orchestra Director's Association’s William E. Richardson Program of Distinction Award.

This year's "Out of the Blue" program proved to be the perfect show to deliver the school's first ABODA State Marching Band Championship win on Saturday, November 16.

The Pride of the West, under the direction of Mr. Aaron Vogel, also earned special caption awards for the Most Outstanding Visual, Auxiliary, General Effect, and Musical Performance.
