GLENDALE, AZ — Wednesday night’s monsoon storm caused serious damage to cars and a home in Glendale.

Lightning struck a tree in the front yard of a home near 57th Avenue and Olive Avenue.

Lili Sexton lives in the home and says she and her family were in bed when they heard a loud boom.

The tree split into several pieces, and large limbs and branches came crashing down on top of their three parked cars. Large tree chunks also landed on the home’s roof, creating two holes.

Luckily, no one was injured.

The storm knocked out power to thousands of customers and also caused some flooding along Interstate 17.
