Authorities say a man in a wheelchair suffered serious burn injuries during a welding incident near 91st and Glendale avenues Saturday.
According to Rural Metro Fire officials, the 79-year-old man was injured when welding equipment he was working with somehow exploded.
The man suffered burns to his upper torso and face.
He was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
No other details were provided.
