A mother is facing child neglect and drug charges after her child was found wandering outside their Glendale home, which was littered with drug paraphernalia.
Officers reportedly found Brenda Guiterrez's 3-year-old alone near 47th Avenue and Union Hills Drive around 1 p.m. Monday and attempted to locate the child's mother.
Police were unable to find Guiterrez at the home, but did locate drug paraphernalia scattered around the residence.
Guiterrez had reportedly taken a taxi to a home near 13th Avenue and Beardsley Road, where she was located by police.
Officers found Guiterrez with heroin and drug paraphernalia, and she was taken into custody for child neglect.
