Police are investigating after an off-duty officer's equipment was taken when his vehicle was broken into last week.
Glendale police officials say the incident took place around 4:45 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8 in the area of 51st and Peoria avenues.
The off-duty Phoenix officer reportedly had "police equipment" stolen.
Glendale officials confirmed some of those items included his service weapon with magazines and ammunition, a duty belt with equipment, two sets of handcuffs, and Phoenix Police jacket.
Officials say the officer remains on the job and there has been no disciplinary action.
"He is still a victim of a crime. He didn't neglectfully leave it somewhere out in public," said Sgt. Alan Pfohl. "Obviously the investigation needs to be concluded before they can determine the level of discipline if any. The monetary value of the items stolen also plays a factor in what level of discipline, as does prior discipline history."
Police say they have no suspect information. Stay with ABC15 for updates.
