GLENDALE, AZ — Police say a man has died and a woman is in serious condition after a shooting in Glendale Saturday evening.

According to police, 50-year-old Vincel Lee Perkins was visiting from out of town and had been riding in the back seat of the vehicle, with a female driving and a male riding in the front passenger seat.

Perkins, believing he had stolen money from his son, shot the man in the passenger seat and told the woman to drive somewhere "to dump the body," according to police.

Once in the area of 57th and Glendale avenues, around 6:30 p.m., police say Perkins shot the female driver and fled the scene.

When officers arrived on scene, the two shooting victims were located and transported to a local hospital where the man was pronounced dead and the female driver sustained a serious gunshot injury.

While at the scene, authorities reportedly received a call about a man coming to the caller's home, saying he had shot two people. When police arrived to the home, they located Perkins hiding in the backyard, where he was taken into custody.

The female is currently in stable condition.

Glendale PD says he is being charged with first degree murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations.

The names of the victims haven't been released and the investigation remains ongoing.
