Glendale police say a driver is in custody after he reportedly left the scene after colliding with two motorcycles on Friday night.

According to police, around 11 p.m. an adult man was traveling northbound on 63rd Avenue when he failed to stop at a red light at Peoria Avenue.

The driver reportedly went through the intersection and collided with two motorcycles traveling on Peoria Avenue.

Police say the driver fled to a house near 63rd Avenue and Cactus Road.

The driver barricaded himself inside but was then taken into custody without incident by the Glendale police SWAT team.

Police say the two motorcycle riders were taken to the hospital with serious injuries but are expected to survive.

Impairment is being investigated on the driver taken into custody, police said.
