Police have arrested the suspect responsible for a deadly hit-and-run crash in Glendale.

Just before 6 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to the area of 56th Avenue and Northern Avenue after receiving reports of a crash.

According to a police spokesperson, a man was struck by a car in the area and the driver allegedly sped away from the scene afterward.

The suspect has since been located and taken into custody, officials said. He has been identified as 60-year-old Kevin Murphy. 

Glendale police have identified the victim as 43-year-old Paul Hernandez. 

It's unknown if impairment or other factors were involved in the crash at this time.
