Officials are looking for a sexual assault suspect in Glendale.
Glendale police said a 12-year-old girl was walking to her home near 54th Avenue and Camelback Road on October 17 when an unknown suspect grabbed her.
According to police, the suspect forced the victim to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
"These are children...," the victim's mother said. "It's just sad how you can just take away a person's innocence; self-confidence...just think it's yours without even asking for it. It's just horrible."
The victim told officers, the same suspect approached her in early October in the same area.
"He's no doubt a monster," the woman said. "Believe me, I have some choice words that I cannot say on TV but yeah, he is all-of-the-above. He's a coward..."
The suspect is described as an African-American male in his late twenties to mid-thirties, with dreadlocks. Police say he has several tattoos including a lion with flames near his left calf and a tiger on his upper left leg. He also had a name starting with the letter "C" on the left side of his neck.
"I'm so proud of that little girl," she said. "I get very emotional but I am. I can't express how proud I am of her."
