A woman was struck and killed when police said she was crossing 51st and Maryland avenues Tuesday morning.
Glendale police said the vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene. The woman was declared dead at the site of the crash.
Authorities say 51st Avenue is shut down between Montebello and Maryland Avenue, where the Grand Avenue overpass is located.
The roadway is expected to be closed for several hours as an investigation for the crash continues.
Drivers are advised to use 59th Avenue, 43rd Avenue, or Grand Avenue to avoid the scene.
