GOODYEAR, AZ — A 16-year-old child that was reportedly left on a school bus alone for three hours has been hospitalized.
Goodyear police say the incident happened at Precious Home Services near 137th Avenue and Van Buren Street on Tuesday around noon.
Police say the bus driver did not follow protocol after dropping a group of disabled students off at the daycare, which includes checking each row for passengers.
After approximately three hours, the child was located on the empty bus alone.
The child was taken to the hospital for heat-related issues and is expected to recover.
No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. The bus driver has not been identified.
