An actress from 'Captain Marvel' spent time in the Valley preparing for her role in the latest superhero flick.
Lashana Lynch, who plays Maria Rambeau, spent time at Luke Air Force Base last April training with F-16s in preparation for the movie.
Lynch reportedly spent two days with female fighter pilots "learning more about what it means to serve in the U.S. Air Force,"officials with Luke Air Force Base said.
That experience included flying in an F-16 with Lt. Col. Kristin "Mother" Hubbard.
"Access to Airmen, aircraft and equipment provides unbeatable production value and authenticity to productions targeting key recruiting demographics," officials said. "Stories like Captain Marvel exemplify our fighting spirit and allow audience everywhere to understand Air Force core values."
The movie, which was officially released on Friday, lists a shout out to Luke Air Force Base in the end credits.
The main character, Captain Marvel herself, played by Brie Larson, reportedly spent time with the Air Force at the Nellis base in the Las Vegas area, according to the Air Force Times.
Larson mentioned her experience at the base in a tribute tweet last April.
