Goodyear church hosting Marketplace Collaborative space for small businesses to grow

Posted

Incubators are a growing trend in business -- bigger businesses opening space to foster smaller ones.

A church in Goodyear is joining the movement in the west Valley and still has space available for rent.

The Marketplace Collaborative will open May 1st at C3 Church located near Litchfield Road and Van Buren Street. The pews set up for the congregation will be there on Sundays but during the week they'll move and mobile workstations will roll out with fully functioning offices.

There's room for 15 businesses to set up shop. For $350 a month, entrepreneurs get access to the Internet, a kitchen area and postal service. There are also two private offices available for rent that can be locked.

The idea is to appeal to small business owners who may need to expand out of their homes but aren't ready for their own office building.

"You get access to other entrepreneurs, you get access to knowledge of the area and you get out of your house. Sometimes you gotta get out of your house to get your work done and focus," said Marketplace Collaborative founder Kalen Arreola.

To help the church, she'll be donating an additional 10 percent of her overall rent to the church which plans to use the money to fund its charity programs including formal wear giveaways and food banks.
