GOODYEAR, AZ — Authorities say a man is dead after a shooting involving Avondale police Sunday night.
Police say officers followed the man, later identified as Daniel Canales, Jr., who was driving a stolen car, to a Walgreen's at Estrella Mountain Ranch near Elliot Road and Estrella Parkway.
Officials say when officers attempted to take Canales, Jr. into custody, there was a confrontation and he was shot.
Police say the Canales, Jr. was transported to the hospital where he later died. No other injuries were reported.
