High school student, other killed in Goodyear shooting Wednesday

GOODYEAR, AZ — Goodyear police say two people were found dead after a shooting Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say it happened near Elwood Street and Estrella Parkway around 4:30 p.m.

Details of the investigation have not been released.

The victims have been identified by Goodyear PD as John D. Castro and Aaliyah M. Anderson. Their ages have not been released officials did confirm that one of the victims was a student at Desert Edge High School.

An arrest has not been announced.

In a separate incident on Sunday, 18-year-old Jeremiah Aviles, a student at Red Mountain High School, was shot and killed in Mesa.
