Police are investigating after an officer-involved shooting at Vee Quiva Casino on Wednesday night.
According to Gila River Police Department, officers were called to the casino parking structure around 11:30 p.m. in response to possible drug activity.
Responding officers located a car with two people inside. The driver appeared to be getting inside a passenger-side compartment before putting the car in gear to try to take off.
One of the officers pulled in behind the car and the suspect driver rammed the police vehicle. Another responding officer pulled in front of the car and was also threatened by the suspect vehicle.
Officers fired at the vehicle, but no one was injured.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Andres Munoz, was taken into custody and booked into jail for aggravated assault.
