LAVEEN, AZ — An overturned sewage truck caused a major hazardous materials situation Saturday afternoon.
According to the Department of Public Safety, a rollover crash caused a spill involving animal waste from a sewage truck on Estrella Drive near the on ramp for the new Loop 202 in the Laveen area.
DPS says diesel fuel also leaked from the truck.
Two people were taken to the hospital for injuries after the crash. Their conditions are unknown.
DPS is still investigating what caused the crash.
Estrella Drive and access to the new Loop 202 in the area is blocked as cleanup continues.
