LAVEEN, AZ — Three people have died after a fiery crash in Laveen early Sunday, according to officials with the Phoenix Police Department.
Officers responded to a crash near 51st Avenue and Elliot Road around 3:00 a.m.
Police say the driver of a sedan lost control for an unknown reason and crashed into a concrete drainage ditch.
Fire crews put out flames that engulfed the vehicle.
Inside, an adult male driver and two adult female passengers were found dead, according to Phoenix, PD.
The names of the three killed have not yet been released.
Investigators say evidence from the scene indicates that speed was a factor in the crash.
