PEORIA, AZ — One person is dead after a shooting involving Peoria police Sunday evening.
At about 8:30 p.m., police received a call for a report of a domestic violence incident near 95th Avenue and Deer Valley Road.
When officers arrived they made contact with a man who got into a vehicle and took off at a high rate of speed. An officer tried to stop the driver with their own vehicle by boxing it in.
The driver then stopped and reportedly said he had a weapon and they would have to kill him, according to police.
One officer fired at least one shot and the person died at the scene.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
