PEORIA, AZ — Authorities are investigating after a father shot his son in the back in Peoria Saturday night.
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. near 83rd Avenue and Bell Road.
According to Peoria police, a man later identified as 67-year-old Harvest George, called police stating that he had shot his son and that his son left the area. The son had reportedly gone to the front of the complex and had someone call police advising that he had been shot.
George stayed on scene and cooperated with police, saying that he had a disagreement with his 25-year-old son and initially pulled a knife on him, but the son was able to get the knife away. As the son tried to leave the residence, George shot his son in the back.
The son was taken to the hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive his injuries.

George was booked into jail and is facing charges of aggravated assault and weapon offenses.
