Peoria police have launched a new campaign to remind drivers to remain safe while out on the roads.
They’re hoping to appeal to motorists’ humor with clever messages that are easy to remember.
“My life is at stake so hit the brake,” which reminds drivers to stop for school buses, and “Check it before you wreck it,” offering a simple reminder for drivers to not speed and wear their seatbelts.
Billboards have been placed along the most heavily traveled parts of Peoria.
The campaign is in conjunction with the Governor's Office of Highway Safety's effort to stop speeding.
