Brian McCormack is facing charges of aggravated assault, endangerment, and driving under the influence of drugs after he ran a red light and struck multiple other vehicles at 91st Avenue and Cactus Road.
Police said two vehicles were traveling north and three were going south on 91st Avenue when McCormack, driving westbound on Cactus, sped through the light and into the intersection.
Two people were transported to nearby hospitals in serious condition, and a third was in critical condition. All of the victims are expected to survive, Peoria police said.
The intersection was closed for several hours Monday as police investigated the crash.
