PEORIA, AZ — UPDATE: Peoria police say Tariq Staples has been located and is safe.

The Peoria Police Department is asking for help locating 14-year-old Tariq Staples.
Police say he left his home around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday near 95th and Olive avenues without letting his parents know where he was going.
According to family, Tariq is high-functioning autistic.
Although it is unclear where Tariq may have gone, he has recently been located at a QuikTrip at 91st and Olive avenues, and near the Loop 101 and Camelback Road in previous instances where he left home.
Tariq is described as a white male, 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Tariq was wearing a white shirt and navy blue pants and possibly had a backpack with him.
