PEORIA, AZ — Peoria police say reports of shots fired eventually led to a barricade situation Wednesday morning
Officers responded to the area of 91st Avenue and Union Hills Drive for reports of shots fired around 7 a.m. Peoria police had described it as an ongoing domestic violence and barricade situation.
According to police, a woman was contacted and was safely removed from the home.
Police say they gave commands to a man inside. After failed attempts, officials say a 60-year-old man was found dead in the garage from a self-inflicted gunshot.
Peoria firefighters were also called to the scene to put out a fire.
